Well we usualy have a small continental breakfast. As most players are sleeping at this time. We set out pastries and hot water for instant oatmeal and a few other things like fruit and such. As for snacks we buy pretzels and peanuts and stuff like that and set them out on the table. When I play Basil I also try to get some entertainment in the tavern. Sometimes it works sometimes not. I have had scavanger hunts, puzzles to solve, riddles, fitting board games and things like story time theater. This is where patrons have to pick topicks from a hat and tell a story with all the topics and the best wins the gold. I have done a few other things like a total ripoff of Whos line is it anyway games like "props" and all. But We usualy try to keep the tavern as a place for pc's who just cant seem to get into things to go to to do at least something. Most of the entertainment happens at lunch and dinner on Sat. As for dinner I cook and let the patron come and go as they please. I try not to have a sit down all at once any more as its to chaotic to serve everyone at the same time. I like them to walk in at the times they need. So I pose hours for dinner like from 6pm till 10 or 11 pm. It seems to work somewhat.

I just took over the tavern for ETN and was planning on doing something like what you've got here. I still need to iron out the details and such....

Keep things as simple as possable.
I cant say that enough. Buy "convience" products, prepacked pastries and instant oatmeal. Tea and sugar, gatoeaid mix etc. If you have the extra help add a pinch if dazzle. BUt one of the best things I can recomend is cook what you would want to eat. I cook from the things I like. You will find it is easier to cook and easier to clean. And cleaning is the biggest chore.

hot water for instant oatmeal Hows the oatmeal work our? We've been thinking of making a bunch of it, but have been holding off based on how heavy it is and how it has a tendency to sit in your stomach. I know people who have been sick because they worked out after eating it, Had any problems with people adventuring after eating it? -Adam

Its just instant packets and we keep hot water ready to make it. So we do not have any prep time or waste.
